Tattoos

If you’re gonna get a tattoo saying anything, atleast make it count right?

Not for some people. Stay true

To what? Straight-edge?

I just think a kid with that tattoo is gonna end up getting annihilated at some point in their life and they’ll regret their tattoo. But then again they’ve probably got No Regrets tattooed on them aswell.

Lol.

If anybody walks into my room this week, they would think it was a boy’s room.

Although, can’t decide if a big sweaty Comedian from Watchmen counts as homoerotic for a man. Obviously, I just didn’t care to notice.

Anyway, my personal battle with the floordrobe was a victory and I own more clothes than I care to count. Starting to feel like I own too much stuff.

I have been poorly this week, booo! Just as I get comfortable with summer holidays, it is sod’s law that i get the flu :(

I got my results for the exam I did for narrative fiction at uni.. passed it! With more than enough marks (but not as good as I had hoped). My portfolio comes back in 4 days and I am excited to see how I did with creative writing, as I am usually a stranger to this sort of thing. I think that’s why I have decided to start blogging again. Maybe the amount of posts I have is reflective in how much energy I have.

A can of monster and a review later, I have been contemplating which jobs to apply for over the summer. I want to try and move into my new flat sooner than I thought and to do this, I must have money. Students and money don’t mix well.

Having said this, I am saying adios to my fellow university amigos with a night out tomorrow on the town which will be followed with cocktails and frolicks, accompanied by an awkward interchange of system of a down and snoop dogg.

Taking full advantage of starbucks happy hour right now also, NOM.

Snow White & The Huntsman : Afterthoughts

So, I won’t bore you with the obvious details because it’s apparent that Kristen Stewart and Chris Hemsworth are the leading roles in this feature film, released today all over the UK.

My expectations for Snow White were pretty high, probably due to the preview images that were released making Stewart look a bit more feisty than her usual ‘Bella Cullen’ role which isn’t hardly as empowering in comparison. The role of Snow White usually being portrayed as innocent and fearful has been reversed somewhat in this film for it is Snow White whom carries a weapon and we all know how dangerous a woman, a sword and a bit of courage can be. The highlights of Stewart’s performance was when she lead an army in a way that fulfilled the character quite boldly and without a conventional Disney princess outlook. The film reminded me of Mulan in parts, as Snow was a lone female amongst a fully male army, submerging herself into the Queen Ravenna’s (Charlize Theron) battling grounds. Stewart definitely held a believable character portrayal which could probably erase the prior negative associations she has had with Twilight previously; (being a useless female in a film where the alpha wolf and vamp fight over her like a piece of meat). Rupert Sanders clearly wanted to say something about this Snow White character, that she is no damsel, but a hero in disguise, and not one to be reckoned with!

For those of you who are expecting to see romance, there are some subtle hints when Hemsworth kisses Stuart in a confessional manner. Although, this movie’s theme should not be confused with classic Snow White. It might be disappointing to some, but this film stands for more than petty romances, the spirit of good versus evil over rules any crush that could have been put on us.

So, in conclusion I am giving this film a 4/5 stars.

Reasons for this -

The new Snow White kicks ass, she doesn’t mess about.

Stewart and Hemsworth were casted perfectly for their roles; also an appearance from Nick Frost as a dwarf is pleasantly surprising.

Cinematography is outstanding, be thankful for the creative genius that is Greig Fraser.

The storyline has become a lot more meaningful and the set is phenomenol.

I think dwarfs are cool.

I am into make-up lately, you could say.
